The Kenya eTA is a mandatory electronic travel authorization that all eligible nationals must obtain before traveling to Kenya. It is a semi-automated system that verifies traveler information and documents before granting entry. The eTA replaces the previous visa-on-arrival process for most nationalities, making the entry process faster and more efficient. Travelers must apply online, attach required documents, and pay the fee before their trip. Once approved, the eTA is sent electronically and linked to the passport number.
The Kenya eTA is typically issued as a single-entry visa valid for 90 days from the date of approval. Travelers must enter Kenya within this 90-day validity period, or the eTA becomes invalid. For US passport holders, a multiple-entry eTA valid for up to 5 years is available, allowing multiple visits within the validity period. The maximum stay per visit is 90 days.
